Due to an internal promotion, Â鶹ƵµÀ is seeking a Senior Porter to assist the Head Porter and Deputy Head Porter with the day-to-day running of the Porters’ Lodge.
The postholder will supervise, support and motivate our team of Porters ensuring professionalism, safety and fantastic customer service.
You will be calm and quick-thinking, good at solving problems and organised with a can-do attitude.

Current academic vacancies
Â鶹ƵµÀ invites applications for a College Lectureship in Law from 1 September 2026. The post will be tenable for two years in the first instance, at which point the appointee will be eligible for a tenured permanent post. Remuneration will be at Point 49 on the University of Cambridge’s salary scale (currently £46,735). Subject to satisfactory appraisal, a College Lecturer shall be eligible for an annual salary increment on the University Lecturer Scale (Points 1-5 on Grade 9 of the University salary scales). The successful candidate will be elected to an Official Fellowship of the College. The post will be fully pensionable.
We welcome applications from applicants who will have completed or be close to completing a Ph.D. in Law and who demonstrate potential to carry out and publish research of the highest calibre. We particularly encourage applications from women and /or candidates from a BME background who are under-represented at this level. Given the nature of the post, the successful candidate will also have experience of teaching at undergraduate level at Cambridge or at another University; and/or have an interest in developing high-quality teaching. Experience of supervision of teaching in at least two of the following papers would be a distinct advantage – Tort, Equity, Contract, Land Law or Civil Law.
Successful candidates must provide satisfactory evidence of eligibility to work in the UK.

Â鶹ƵµÀ, University of Cambridge, seeks to appoint a College Teaching Officer in Economics. The post will be tenable from no later than 1 October 2025 for a fixed period of three years and will be 50% full time equivalent. Remuneration will be at 50% of Point 49 on the University of Cambridge’s salary scale (currently £23,368 per annum). The successful candidate will be elected to an Official Fellowship of the College.
Applications are encouraged from candidates specialising in any field of economics, but the post-holder must be able to teach two or more undergraduate papers in microeconomics, macroeconomics or econometrics of the Economics Tripos. The post-holder will deliver six hours of small-group teaching (‘supervisions’) for the twenty teaching weeks of the academic year. They will also serve as Director of Studies, for which they will be separately remunerated.

Â鶹ƵµÀ seeks to appoint to Bye Fellowships up to ten post-doctoral researchers to start from 1 October 2025. Research can be in any field, but the College would specifically welcome applications from candidates from ethnic backgrounds currently under-represented in the College Fellowship.
The College will appoint no more than five researchers in the Sciences discipline and five in the Arts/Humanities discipline.
Applicants should already hold a post in a Department, Faculty or affiliated institution of the University of Cambridge.
Bye Fellows will be expected to play a part in the academic life of the College, for example, by supervising, participating in subject societies and/or attending termly graduate seminars.
Bye Fellows are members of the Senior Common Room, and are entitled to two meals a week in College. They also have access to shared teaching space. They are paid at an enhanced rate (120%) for supervising members of the College.
Appointments are made for one-year in the first instance, but may be renewed on an annual basis for up to three years. Bye Fellows are asked to write an annual report on their research ahead of the renewal of their Fellowship.
