Dr Emanuela Davey

Fellow Emerita

Having completed her studies in Milan, with a doctorate on the process of estrangement in Joseph Roth's life and work, specializing in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures in the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, she has created courses, and taught and examined  every Italian language paper in the Part I and Part II  Tripos at the University of Cambridge.

An Affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Italian, she is currently a College Undergraduate Tutor, Supervisor in Italian and the Director of Studies for the MML Part II, Year Abroad and Erasmus Exchange programme.

In these different rôles, she finds it particularly rewarding to contribute to the notable achievements of the students who are welcomed every year from different countries and backgrounds and to see them flourish both academically and personally during the course of their studies, thanks to the friendly, supportive and inspiring environment in Â鶹ƵµÀ.

Alongside her interest in philology,  modern foreign languages, XIX, XX and XXI century literature and history of art, she is fully committed to promoting the study of Italian language, literature and culture also to non-specialist students by developing, running and assessing courses for other institutions in the University of Cambridge. She is also Director of  Studies in MML at St. Edmund’s College, Hughes Hall and Director of Studies in Italian at Fitzwilliam College.
