Research Interests
I am dedicated to advancing psychometric methodologies, focusing on item response theory, subscale score estimation, and model specification within large-scale assessments. My work emphasizes the development and validation of assessment tools to improve measurement precision in education and psychology, alongside contributing to open-source software solutions, including the R package ālsasim.ā
Biography
Kondwani Mughogho is a Psychometrician at the Psychometrics Centre, Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, where he specializes in educational measurement and psychometric research. With a Doctorate in Educational Sciences from the University of Oslo, Kondwaniās work focuses on the application of Item Response Theory (IRT), Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT), and subscale score estimation in international large-scale assessments. His expertise spans psychometric analysis, statistical modeling, and the development of assessment tools to improve measurement accuracy and fairness in education and psychology.
Previously, Kondwani held roles at the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) and currently contributes to research and development at The Psychometrics Centre at Cambridge. He has also served as a lecturer and facilitator, teaching courses, and workshops on R programming and psychometric methods internationally. A contributor to open-source psychometric tools, including the R package ālsasim,ā Kondwaniās research and teaching reflect a deep commitment to advancing psychometric methodologies in diverse educational contexts.
