Biography
Ruchi Sinnatamby graduated with distinctions in Clinical Medicine, from Queens’ College, Cambridge University. She is Clinical Sub-Dean and Associate Lecturer at the University Of Cambridge School Of Clinical Medicine. She has been a Consultant Radiologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 1999 providing direct clinical care in specialist breast imaging, general radiology and CT.
Ruchi has a strong commitment to teaching and training with longstanding contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate education at local, Deanery and national levels, in the field of clinical and communication skills as well as in specialist radiology teaching and pastoral support. She has been lead for postgraduate training in Breast Imaging at Cambridge for 14 years, organising, supervising and assessing specialist training. She is national training and education lead for the British Society of Breast Radiology, an examiner for the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) final fellowship exam and member of the RCR Specialty Training Board. She has been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2007.
In 2013 Ruchi received Educator of the Year award (open to all healthcare professionals in the East of England) from Health Education England in recognition of her outstanding contribution to medical education.
Her research activity is clinically orientated and addresses practical issues to inform and improve clinical service, primarily in the field of imaging for breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Ruchi has been a Fellow of New Hall since 1994 and was elected Vice President of Murray Edwards in 2014.
