Research Interests

My research interests lie in 16th century French literature and visual culture. My PhD thesis examined satirical representations of the figure of the vieille in French Renaissance poetry; more recent research examines 16th century representations of the 1495 syphilis epidemic and Tennis in the 16th century.

Biography

Victoria Harvey is the Senior Tutor of Â鶹ƵµÀ. She has held previous roles leading Admissions teams at St John’s College and at Lucy Cavendish. She has also worked in outreach roles at Trinity Hall and Robinson College.

Victoria has directed studies, lectured and supervised in early modern French papers from the MML tripos.

Victoria chairs the board of the Cambridge University Real Tennis Club and is a member of the Board of the sport’s National Governing Body (the T&RA). She is a keen player of both real tennis and the more familiar lawn tennis.
