Degrees
- PhD in Stem Cell Biology, University College London
- MSc in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition, University College London
- BEng in Food Science and Nutrition, China Agricultural University
Research Interests
I research the intricacies of cerebral cortex development, focusing on key processes such as neurogenesis, cortical plate formation, and gliogenesis. My ongoing research at the Wellcome Sanger Insititute aims to pioneer novel single-cell multi-omics sequencing technologies to map the cellular architecture in both healthy and diseased brains.
Biography
Yiting (Amber) Wu is a researcher with a solid background in stem cell and cancer biology, aiming to translate preclinical discoveries into tangible health benefits for patients. Currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, she specialises in single-cell multi-omic sequencing, focusing on advancing our understanding of complex biological systems.
Amber earned her PhD in Stem Cell and Cancer Biology from University College London, where she also completed an MSc in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition. She is a registered associate nutritionist in the UK, with her academic journey beginning with a BEng in Food Science Engineering from China Agricultural University. With over five years of experience at Curileum Discovery Ltd as a Research Scientist and Translational Research Manager, Amber established an in vitro 3D organoid drug screening platform across multiple species and diseases, significantly advancing cancer research. She discovered a novel small molecule drug candidate that effectively reduces polyp formation and reverses established polyps, marking a crucial step in the early intervention of colorectal cancer. Her dedication to bridging the gap between scientific research and clinical application drives her continuous pursuit of innovative solutions in the field of biomedical sciences.
