Research interests

Prior to joining the University of Cambridge, Paul worked was a Professor in the Civil and Computational Engineering Centre at the University of Swansea leading aerospace. Before to this he was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at the University of Warwick.  He is an Associate Editor of the American Institute of Astronautics and Aeronautics (AIAA) Journal. Paul gained his PhD at what was formerly the Rolls-Royce Centre at the University of Sussex. He has been a visiting a researcher at NASA Langley and Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Seattle. For several years, through a Royal Society Industry Fellowship Paul spent 40 per cent of his time at Rolls-Royce plc in a computational methods development group.
